I’m being pragmatic. Avoiding perfectionism. I am hoping it’s a good strategy.
I want to publish my Responsibility Matrix framework online. I want to give away (freebees!) all of the important concepts. But, I’m putting a lot of work into this and I don’t want to give it all away. I know that people don’t necessarily value things that come without some type of pricetag.
So, I need to publish a lot of posts. Maybe structure it like a book. And have some of it free and some of it behind a paywall.
Plus, I want to have a discussion forum that will really facilitate interesting discussions on the relevant topics.
Do I write this website functionality from scratch? That’s always my first inclination because it needs to be perfect. But I’m wising up. And I’ve discovered that I can get (I think) a pretty good facsimile of my goal just by installing WordPress and some associated plugins.
So that’s what I’m doing. I got it started over the weekend. I know which plugins (mostly) I’ll be using. So onward. Progress. Not Perfection.
