My Why

Why am I doing … what I’m doing?

That’s a very important question. If we’re going to work together, it’s important that I be transparent.

I must confess, I want to make a lasting mark on the world. Who doesn’t?

I’m nothing special, of course. But my combination of traits and experiences are special. No one else has done the same things I’ve done. Same for you and everyone else.

My unique combination of traits and experiences leads to insights that I believe can help others be more productive and have a more fulfilling life. And, deep down, I’m a teacher. I get joy when I help others understand an important idea.

So, because of my unique combination of traits and experiences, I’m focusing on helping (by teaching) in two specific areas:

  1. I want to assure that internal auditors take advantage of their unique opportunities to be influential and help their organization in fundamentally important ways.
  2. I want to assure that teams, of any type and size, do things the right way to be effective and deliver great results.

These are real-world challenges for internal auditors and team leaders. I know I can help minimize those challenges. And I am focusing on these two specific areas because of my unique combination of traits and experiences.

Here’s one more thing that ties it all together. And this is why my insights are different and will be uniquely helpful to some. I deeply understand and appreciate the importance of SPCS. And I want others to embrace SPCS as a fundamental driver for success. So, I’m also teaching SPCS – by example.

Everything I do is rooted in SPCS. Whether I’m helping executives and team leaders understand better ways to deliver their important goals or helping internal audit executives add more value, the approach is Simple, Practical, Complete, and Sustainable.

I have several projects in the queue to make this happen. But I can’t do everything at once. So my first project is:
